FAQ's

The Government does fund most health related services however Government funding moves a lot slower than technology does. Often the funding pool and health professionals can’t meet the community’s needs fast enough. The Heart Trust helps bridge the gap - providing seed funds for technology and service development as well as funds to ensure equipment and services are available sooner than might otherwise be the case.

Seed funding is an endorsement by well-informed and responsible organisations recognising a need. The Heart Trust seeks to raise funds to support new developments in health technology and services as well as provide state of the art equipment faster than Government funding can allow.  Seed funding made available by the Trust is only part of the total funding needed for a project and is often conditional on additional funding being raised from other sources.

The Trust’s funds are used to secure state of the art technology,  services and equipment for use in the public sector not for individuals.

The Heart Trust works in partnership with District Health Boards in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Thames/Coromandel, Taranaki, Gisborne/Tairawhiti regions to provide up-to-date heart technology services and equipment – faster than Government funding can provide.
