Surgical instruments for the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit 2012

Two special sets of instruments were purchased by the Trust to allow for minimally invasive valve replacement surgery. These instruments mean that in certain cases the surgeon can operate through a smaller incision. The patients can recover more quickly as a result.
